"In other trips to New Zealand, we have been disappointed with how few New Zealanders we met when staying in B & Bs. Tangley is a breath of fresh air on this score. Both Janet and Ian are true New Zealanders of several generations, whose hospitality and interest in their guests was genuine and generous. The house is well located on a quiet residential street only a few minutes drive to either the airport or the city center. A lovely small restaurant, Miscio, is a short walk away for dinner. The rooms are beautifully appointed in keeping with the home's 100 year old character, yet remodeled to provide all modern amenities, such as heated bath floors and additional sound proofing for privacy and quiet. There is no TV or phone in the rooms, which didn't bother us a bit. Breakfast is so good that Janet had to put together a cookbook to share her recipes."

Easy accessibility to both downtown Christchurch and the airport are a definate plus. Our accomodations were luxurious yet not pretentious, ones that made us feel like one of the family and spoiled at the same time. Janet is a master of the NZ gourmet breakfast while Ian is the ultimate travel planner. We utilized his lifetime knowledge of NZ South Island experiences to enhance our trip. They both earn and deserve their 5 star rating."

"This accommodation was simply beautiful. a really lovely place to stay at the close of our 3-4 weeks trip to NZ to celebrate our 40th Wedding Aniversary.Tangley on Clyde is situated just outside the centre of Christchurch in a quiet, residential street. We were delighted with our room (with en-suite facilities) the house itself and our very friendly and welcoming hosts, Janet & Ian. They made us feel very comfortable and really treated us like friends.There was a great attention to detail in the furnishings and decor which was really special. The breakfasts were delicious with a selection of home-grown fruit and home made jams, one of the best breakfasts we'd eaten during our stay. If ever we were in Christchurch again we would certainly want to stay at Tangley again"
