All Our News! September Update 2009

Dear Friends,

Today is the most perfect winter day, not a cloud in the sky and no wind at all, it’s great to be alive and looking back over the last six months since our last news letter we seem to have packed in rather a lot of living.

Our last weekend was spent in Dansey’s Pass in Otago, with the Rotary Club. We book out the lovely old hotel each year and have a four wheel drive expedition, a curling competition, great food and fantastic company. The weather there was also perfect and the night sky something to behold, you forget just how magnificent it is when you live in town!

Ian and I had a trip to Mount Cook also this winter to a conference then on to Wanaka for some rest and relaxation, it was just what we needed and managed to catch up with friends as well.

Tangley has had a busy time lately and I am struggling to get the Autumn pruning finished before the spring bulbs poke through. We have had more people staying this winter and the functions have just kept on. I love the busy life and meeting more people and as long as we have a balance of time off it is all working well.


The family is doing well, the grand children continue to be the focus of our lives (and the children too of course!!) Sam (4), Jack (2) and Hannah (4 months) are loving the snow in their mountain environment, Dan has had the knee board out for sledging and if Sarah doesn't have them dressed early enough they are out in their pyjamas and bare feet. We breed them hardy down here.

Anna and Kent have had a good year on the dairy farm and their dear little girls Emma (3) and Sophie (2) are developing into the most delightful people. They spend a lot of time with their babies (dolls) and will be just ecstatic in November when they are joined by a little brother or sister!!

James and Abbey are very busy, both with their work and also beginning the renovation of their new home. A babies nursery is the first on the agenda as they also are having a baby in November!! That will bring the count to 7, how lucky we are!

We attended a family wedding in March and this photo was taken of the grand children, they were as well behaved as they looked and we were very proud!!!!

Due to popular demand, we have created a book full of recipes that we use at Tangley. If anyone is interested in purchasing one please just send me an email. There are 50 tried and true recipes, from family and friends and many have become a Tangley trademark.
